Head Coach, Women's Cloth
I have played competitive dodgeball for over 20 years with experience at the highest level of play in foam, cloth and rubber. Each with success at the world level. Growing up and to this day, I continue to play competitive sports outside of dodgeball (basketball, volleyball, soccer, football and softball). What a lot don’t know about me, is that I have obtained my black belt as well as competed in martial arts internationally.
Head Coach, Mixed Foam
Team Canada is looking better than ever! With nearly a decade of experience playing, organizing, and coaching dodgeball, I’m excited to take a leading position with Dodgeball Canada’s gold-medal winning mixed program. Joining me as Assistant Coaches this season are Corey Oickle from Halifax, Nova Scotia and Guylaine San Filippo from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Both are former members of Team Canada’s National teams and strong leaders from their regional communities.
Head Coach, Men’s Cloth
Ian brings over a decade of dodgeball experience to the National Team Program. Prior to finding his love of dodgeball Ian excelled at a variety of sports including swimming and ultimate frisbee.
Ian coached the 2022 Men's National Cloth Team to a 4th place finish at the 2022 World Championships in Edmonton, AB.
Ian has coached the Quebec Provinical teams Harfangs and Monarque in 2020, prior to the pandemic and has coached the club team Quake based out of Ottawa.
Head Coach, Men's Foam
I have been around dodgeball for a dozen years, playing competitively and winning medals at national, regional, and international competitions. I have coached at league, provincial, and national tournaments bringing home medals at all levels. To round out the coaching staff I have invited former Team Canada Captain and multiple World Championship gold medal winner Dave Kutner; former Team Canada Captain and multiple World Championship medal winner Matthew Garcia-Silveira; and longtime Team Canada member and Quebec dodgeball pioneer Hubert Gaudreau to the team.
Head Coach, Mixed Cloth
My name is Brian Warring and I’ve been playing cloth dodgeball since the day EDH, Canada’s first cloth league started in 2005 in Hamilton, Ontario. I was immediately obsessed with the game. After over a decade of playing and reffing at EDH I began branching out and playing in other organizations, (Dodgeball Niagara, PlayHamilton) discovering other styles of play and trying foam for the first time in 2016. I found out there was a National Dodgeball Team and that Canada would be hosting the world championship in Toronto in 2017. I was amazed at what I witnessed there and I knew I wanted to get involved at a higher level.
