Ian Assang

Head Coach, Men’s Cloth

Ian brings over a decade of dodgeball experience to the National Team Program. Prior to finding his love of dodgeball Ian excelled at a variety of sports including swimming and ultimate frisbee.


Ian coached the 2022 Men's National Cloth Team to a 4th place finish at the 2022 World Championships in Edmonton, AB.


Ian has coached the Quebec Provinical teams Harfangs and Monarque in 2020, prior to the pandemic and has coached the club team Quake based out of Ottawa.


In 2017, he had the opportunity to officiate at the WDBF World Championships in Markham where he got a taste for the officiating side of the sport. Since then, Ian was a lead official at the 2018 National Championships in Winnipeg and served as Chief Official at the 2019 National Championships in Charlottetown, and the 2019 WDBF World Championships in Cancun. He continues to support Dodgeball Canada in the development of the national officiating program.


Ian currently serves as the Director of Sport Development for Dodgeball Ontario.


Ian’s passion for the sport and sport development is something he is excited to continue to share with the sport nationwide.
