Dodgeball Canada Launches a new Twitch Channel

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

Dodgeball Canada recently changed their Twitch channel from @DodgeballCanada to @DodgeballTTV.

Dodgeball Canada has been very fortunate to have formed a supportive partnership with Twitch. The stream has been very successful. When comparing the 2018 to 2019 Nationals our live viewership has increased 10x (36K to 365K) and minutes watched 8x (443K to 3.7M).

As a result, DC made the conscious decision to rebrand their channel and to expand focused content to include dodgeball matches, games, and clips from around the world. This change will:

1. Bring the international community of dodgeball together in one location;

2. Offer content all year round with no off-season; and,

3. Help organizations who want to stream but are not able to.

All this couldn’t have been achieved without our PSOs, leagues, athletes, commentators and volunteers for their ongoing dedication to the sport. A special recognition goes to Mitch Janzen for his motivation, hard work, and commitment to helping DC stream live content and publish pre-recorded videos. He is the mastermind behind the channel.

If you are a dodgeball nation, organization, or league that want to stream your pre-recorded game footage or clips please get in touch with mitch@dodgeballcanada.org. We can also make arrangements to schedule live footage as well.

The @DodgeballTTV is also accepting sponsorship opportunities for businesses or companies who want to build their brand or promote their products through visual broadcast. As a developing sport in its professional infancy, the costs to advertise is minimal yet effective. For more information contact duane@dodgeballcanada.org.

In a few days I will be able to start streaming on Twitch and meet new fans! By the way, I have already created a YouTube channel where I will post my recorded video streams. Here I learned how to do this.
