Equity and Access Policy

Canada is made up of people from diverse communities and equity-seeking groups. Dodgeball Canada recognizes that the changing nature of the population has implications in terms of delivering and/or providing access to its services (e.g. programming, activities, etc.). We recognize that barriers to services exist for members of diverse communities, particularly for equity-seeking groups, and we are committed to acting as a positive force in eliminating these barriers.

Conduct and Harassment Policy

Dodgeball Canada is committed to providing a sport and work environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. Each individual has the right to participate and work in an environment which promotes equal opportunities and prohibits discriminatory practices.

Official Languages Policy

Dodgeball Canada is committed to the promotion and use of the two official languages of Canada in the delivery of its services. All parties who wish to communicate with Dodgeball Canada have the right to receive service in the preferred official language of their choice.

Dispute Resolution Policy

Dodgeball Canada aims to strengthen the transparency and accountability of its dispute resolution process, by clarifying the responsibilities of the players, coaches, board of directors and Disciplinary Committee. Resources used to develop this Policy can be referenced from the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada.

Conflict of Interest

Members of Dodgeball Canada’s board of directors and staff are expected to operate according to high ethical standards. This includes recognizing that conflicts of interest exist, have the potential to inhibit the wisdom impartiality of particular decisions, and possibly damage the organization’s reputation. Individuals who act on behalf of an organization have a duty first to that organization and second to any personal stake they have in the operations of the Association.

Financial Policy

Dodgeball Canada is committed to ensuring the ongoing and long-term financial health and stability of the organization by establishing a stable financial model and ensuring that it can successfully deliver on its mission, vision and values. The Organization will function as a Not-For-Profit organization and all fundraising, fees, sponsorship, and grants will be used for the ongoing development of the sport.

Board Member Travel Policy

It is important that a member of the Dodgeball Canada Board attends specific events throughout the year to promote and advance the organization. Each pre-approved event will be determined by the Board when it submits its annual budget. Additional events outside of the budget will require Board approval.
